Union Meeting Monday, November 17, 2008
Called to order @ 1916 with Pledge of Allegiance.
Members Present: Drew, Strange, K. King, Warren, Lovvorn, Padgett.
Secretary Report: Christmas Party fundraising ideas have been put on hold, Sacco to do more research. Golf Tournament fundraising idea to be investigated further by Farva.
Treasurer Report: Making progress on paying down attorney’s fees, thank you goes to Kathie for being diligent in making this happen.
Old Business: President, VP, and Sec/Tres. nomination forms have been collected; no opposition for Drew, Strange, and Nickerson. January meeting they will be sworn into office.
Any person requesting FD personnel files must now go through the clerk’s office at City Hall. The member(s) who file(s) is/are being requested shall be notified in writing by the city as to who, what, and why their file(s) is/are being requested.
Contract is now finalized for one year. We know there are still issues, especially with medic pay, annual evaluation dates, and the seniority list. President Drew is aware of these issues and has already taken steps to remedy the situation - more to come.
Shop Stewards – Nomination forms have been collected; issue has been tabled until January meeting.
New Business: Grievance forms will be posted on the ‘L’ Drive on city computers as well as hard copies inside the filing cabinets. Any one seeking a grievance shall fill out the paper work and submit to President Drew for review.
Captain Peace’s wife now works in financial planning and will be making a presentation at January meeting.
Local 4350 Christmas Party set for Friday, December 12 @ 1830. Will be in the bays at Fire Station 2. Meat will be provided, all families are asked to bring a covered dish to share.
Meeting adjourned @ 2005- Next meeting set for Third Monday in January.
