Chris Dodd for President's New Campaign Ad: Getting Results for Change

Where did Chris Dodd get that white hair from?

Did it come from his time in the Peace Corps or in the military? Maybe it happened as he fought for seven years to pass the Family and Medical Leave Act? How about while negotiating peace in Central America and Northern Ireland, or his 26 years on the Foreign Relations Committee?

Dodd became the first presidential candidate to politicize the Southern California wildfires today while speaking in Chicago at an International Association of Fire Fighters conference. Dodd Leads; Obama and Clinton Follow, Sort Of

There’s a huge difference between people who are actual leaders and who happen to want to be President, and people who want to be President so they can be the leader. Chris Dodd on the Issues

The members of the International Association of Fire Fighters have no greater advocate or leader in the United States Senate than Chris Dodd (D-CT). His tireless work on behalf of fire fighters, emergency medical personnel and their families has helped make the fire fighting profession safer, more adequately funded and equitable to those on the frontline. Chris Dodd currently serves as the chair of the Congressional Fire Service Caucus and is one of only two recipients of the IAFF Lifetime Achievement Award.

Ruling on Fire Captain's Suspension Due
July 31, 2007 -- Huntsville fire fighters will have to wait at least 10 days to learn if the head of their union will be punished for disrespecting the city's then-fire chief. "I didn't say anything about my superior in public. The U.S. House of Representatives has overwhelmingly passed HR 980, the Public Safety Employer-Employee Cooperation Act of 2007, which guarantees collective bargaining rights for every fire fighter in the nation. The measure received widespread, bipartisan support, prompting leaders from both parties to consider the bill under an expedited procedure usually reserved for non-controversial legislation. HR 980, which cleared the House by a margin of 314-97, is the IAFF's single most important legislative initiative.

Experts Question Hose Choice in Charleston Fire
When photos and video footage of the June 18 Sofa Super Store fire beamed around the world, some fire fighters and fire safety experts were troubled by what they saw: small red hoses snaking through the front door of the burning furniture store. These rubber hoses, known as booster lines, were commonplace on fire trucks 20 years ago. They have since been phased out in many departments because they proved ineffective at fighting structure fires and can place fire fighters at risk.
